The days are ticking down to the final presentation. With all the preparation going into preparing for the judges, I can definitely say it is overwhelming.

I was very nervous when it came time for me to present in front of my class. I was shaking and I was afraid people could see it in my hands and hear it in my voice. I started off very nervous but I made it to the end and finished with a time of 9:06, people were saying I was talking very fast. I think if I slow down I will be able to get a better time.
I have been practicing my presentation at home to my family. I was very nervous when I started this presenting process, I let a lot of my nerves over take my confidence, but I am definitely getting better.
Mary Jo was available to help us tie the quilt. She taught me that when you tie, you need to put 3 knots in your piece of yarn. You need to change the direction that you are doing it so that it stays in place. it took us a total of 3.5 hours to tie the quilt. I had to learn how to stretch it and make it fit on the wooden frame. For my frame we used 4 pieces of wood and 4 chairs. We had to clamp the quilt onto the frame for tightness.
Mary Jo came and helped us cut the pieces that we are going to use as backing for our quilt. We saved this step to do with her so she could teach me the correct ways to measure batting knowing that it will pull and stretch so we needed to make sure the lengths were correct.
We finished sewing all of the longer strips that we are going to use for the back of my quilt. Once we finished sewing the strips together, we had to cut them so we could put them in the correct order to make the pattern for the back. Our next steps will be to sew those pieces together to form the square blocks.
I finished sewing my long strips together. I now have the final pieces in order to finish making the back of my quilt. The next step will be to start pinning the back to the backing of the quilt. Tying will start after that.
Met with Mary Jo and Gale and we cut the long strips that we are going to be using for the backing of the quilt. We then laid them out how we are going to sew the strips together making sure everything will fit in the correct position.
I worked for 5 hours sewing the 7 new blocks together, making the final large square. Sewed the big blocks together. We then talked about the backing design and how we were going to pick a design and use the different material in different ways to make an eye popping design.
