I met with my mentor on December 11th. We made pattern blocks out of construction paper. After we made the blocks we taped them together, and moved them around to represent how the quilting blocks will be placed. We signed the needed paper work for class. We also figured out how much of the material I am going to need to purchase. I will need about 3 yards of each material for the top of the quilt, and for the back roughly 7 yards. We are planning to wait until after Christmas to meet again.

I looked at different designs of material for my quilt. There are so many different ones I can choose from. The ones I am thinking about using, but not for sure yet, are chevron designs with different colors. My base color will be black and white, then different colors to follow.
I also contacted my mentor by phone and we planned a day that we are going to meet to discuss the final product and to get papers signed. We are both going to learn from each other as we both have different pieces of knowledge on different branches of the quilting process. |
